About

Claire

I’m Claire, an Australian writer and editor who moved to Zurich, Switzerland in 2014 after living in London for seven years with my husband (Himself) and one son (2.75 years old at time of the move). Since then, we’ve had another baby boy.

Although I love Facebook, I though it would make sense to record my experiences on yet-another-expat-in-Zurich blog so here ’tis.

2015-16 update: As it’s evolved over the years, this blog has become a bit of a grab-bag of my writing – with “columns” about parenting and life, poems and, of course, much (a)musing on my expat life and attempts to learn German here in Zurich.

2017 update: this year I’m focusing on three types of writing. I’ve gone back to some travel writing with my #26Cantons52Weeks challenge, where I hope to visit each canton of Switzerland throughout the year. I’m still writing loads of poetry and I’m also dabbling in some fiction. I hope you enjoy reading all this as much as I enjoy writing it.

Rock ‘n’ Roll!

If you REALLY like what you see here and would like to feature some of my words (or pictures), or you’d like me to write something specifically for you – please contact me

  1. Just found your blog via an article on The Local. Can’t wait to read about another Zurich expat’s experience, and kudos to the 26 cantons challenge! I started one myself for hiking in the summer. 6 down, 20 to go 😀 Good luck!

    1. Thanks for stopping by and, this may sound weird, but I really appreciate you mentioning how you found me! Would love to do a hike in every canton. Maybe a new project for next year 🙂
